      Description

There are a few options used that are deprecated (not even including the SSL CTX options) and probably should be conditionally compiled out in favor of the newer ones. For example, CURL_OPT_ENCODING became CURL_OPT_ACCEPT_ENCODING.

I wouldn't suggest we break RH5 builds just to address this, so it probably means ifdefs to favor the new option over the old one, which would defensively prevent it from breaking if they ever pulled the old one.
