Text for the 'reset' of the attribute release consent seems to be confusing

Description

From a native English speaker we learnt, that the default message 'Clear prior granting of permission for release of your information to this service.' is not correct and confusing. You, as native English speakers, will surely find a better wording, so I do not suggest one myself.

The screenshot shows the context, in which the message is presented.

Can you please fix that in the next IdP version?

Environment

I got some negative feedback on the wording.
I'm moving this out, (but will listen to pained responses).

I have a feeling that this area (User interfaces and consent) is going to get some profound attention by someone, sometime, hopefuilly in 4.0. It cannot carry on being everyone's favorite project and then being dropped like a read hot coal.

Its now nearly the end of V4 and noone has stepped up to provide better words. So I'm afraid that for V4 we need to leave as is.

We are not linguists, nor yet communications experts, just jobbing software engineers..

I'm moving this out, but feel free to apply pressure , here (or better still in a support call or other consortium mechanism).

I commented (incorrectly) this in Aug18

thanks I like that a lot more.

I'll leave this open until next week (to give the US contigent a chance to comment after the 4th) and then, absent further comments make the change.

Defaults are sticky, and not many admins seem to adapt such strings.

We just reviewed the text for this option. Here the proposal:

  • Display the information to be transferred so that I can still reject the release.

A usability study provided us the feedback to directly address users and let them know what will happen next.

Even as a native English Speaker I find it hard - too many negatives.

  • "Reset all attribute-release information for this Service"?

  • "Rescind all attribute-release for this Service"?

Its all in deployer changeable code (both in {{login.vm}} and in the message files.

What do you guys use for your per-language options (de/fr/it/romanch).  Maybe google translate will help be back translate?
